A little about PTRS

Through rising and falling markets, PTRS and Egroeg the Property Tax Wizard continue to be the most effective property tax consulting service in Arizona, providing services to property owners statewide and all across the United States since 1987.

We’ve saved our clients millions of dollars in Arizona alone: the state with the country’s most complicated tax structure; and in other states, we draw from our vast experience or in tandem with affiliates, combining expertise with insider knowledge.

PTRS specializes in thinking outside the box—providing personal, creative solutions unique to every client. Our powerful, effective working relationships with public officials throughout Arizona are invaluable, not to mention having a Wizard on the team. PTRS, along with Egroeg, are experts at examining all aspects of our clients’ property tax issues; looking beyond the obvious to find often-times obscure solutions resulting in large savings.

With over 20 years experience, our success rate is over 86%. But don’t take our word for it; just ask our satisfied customers.

A graduate of M.I.T. with an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, George has been active in the real estate industry since 1973 as a developer, broker, consultant, and economist. After "development" collapsed as a result of the Federal Tax Reform Act of 1986, he began appealing property valuations for taxpayers in Arizona. Even after the economy became developer-friendly again, George stayed with the Tax Appeals business, and he’s still at it today—making him one of the most seasoned experts in Arizona's ridiculously complicated property tax laws and regulations. A world-traveler and adventurer, George brings with him his skills of route-finding, endurance, and persistence to solve his client's most complex property valuation and assessment issues.

A graduate of the Round Table School of Economics, summa cum-resultus, Egroeg became involved in real estate after the world was found to be no longer flat and things became much more complicated. He joined forces with PTRS in 1987, bringing with him centuries’ worth of wisdom, experience, and his crystal ball.

Susan began to develop her real estate expertise as a child by accompanying George on visits to properties in Colorado. (George denies rumors that Egroeg slipped a secret Tax Relief formula into Susan’s baby bottle). She first put her knowledge to practical use as an Intern in the Land Department of Eklutna Corporation–an Alaska Native Corporation with a large land portfolio near Anchorage. Following her graduation from Yale with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Susan co-founded PTRS with her father in 1987, before persuing a career with Rain Bird Sprinklers, where for over 20 years, she worked in multiple disciplines including Quality Assurance, Product Management, New Product Development and Marketing. Her Rain Bird career was distinguished by a strong customer focus and by her ability to creatively achieve tangible results. While working at Rain Bird, Susan was a co-inventor of multiple patented and patent-pending technologies, and she earned her Executive MBA from Arizona State University, where her classmates referred to her as “High Score Susan”. Susan returned to PTRS in 2008 and has achieved substantial property tax savings for clients since her return. When not working, Susan is passionate about vocal music, travel and photography.
